Preschool is a great way to help your child make the transition from spending the day at home to attending classes in a public school system. You have to be very picky about which preschool you choose though. After all, your child is probably only three or four years old if you are looking at preschools and they are very impressionable during those young ages.

When you look at different preschools, remember that the environment, class size, curriculum, resources and teachers all affect how well you child will learn and how much fun they will have. For example, at Montessori Academy, which is a successful preschool in Cincinnati, there is a great playground, clean classrooms, three teachers in every 30 student class and a strong academic curriculum. High scores on periodic state tests and the schools rapid growth are just two testaments that illustrate that this school is doing something right.

In addition to their friendly and clean environment, another attractive characteristics of Montessori Academy, is that they offer to provide additional child care after preschool as late as 6:30 p.m. This is very helpful for working parents with young children. And, except for national holiday and spring break, Montessori Academy is open year-round. In the summer, their focus shifts a away from academic emphasis a little and focuses more on constructive playtime.

Parents can send their children to school with homemade lunches or sign up for hot lunches that are completely catered every day. The daily routines help students get used to school systems, but children also get to meet guest presenters in the classroom and go on a few field trips throughout the year.

In addition to running a preschool, Montessori Academy also manages a Cincinnati kindergarten and an infant/toddler daycare facility. Personally, I wouldn’t want to put my children in daycare before they are three years old, but if you have to work to make ends meet, Montessori Academy may provide a convenient solution.
