For a girl, I think that I am a pretty easy person to shop for. I don’t crave expensive jewelry or clothes and I keep a running wish list to ease my husband’s task of finding a good birthday present. Common items on my list would be a movie, some garden tools, new washcloths, or a CD. All of them are simple, inexpensive and practical things. Unfortunately, my husband is very hard to shop for.

Even though it is easy for me to see that he needs new socks or a T-shirt, those items wouldn’t be his first choices. His wish list runs something like: one $2,000 TV, one $1,000 camera and one amazing sound system that I haven’t priced yet. Even though it would be nice to own these items, they are slightly beyond our newly-wed budget.

Still, knowing that electronics are my husband’s passion, I have learned how and where to shop for discount electronics. New York is home to a store called Get Ultimate Stuff (GetUltimateStuff.com). I can find almost any kind of product on their site. Best Buy also run good deals if you watch for them. They aren’t all around Thanksgiving and Christmas either. Many of the best deals I’ve found were not near a holiday at all because I’m not willing to deal with crowds if I can help it.
